Login Manager with multiuser variable X-servers

Login Manager with multiuser variable X-servers

Hi everybody

i search for a login manager like gdm xdm or others which support:

multiple userlogins like on the Mac OS

and Variable X-servers, mostly i use the Xgl but sometimes i need standart X.

can anyone give me a good solution?

You could always try qingy.

I just started using it, and each user get's their own X Server, or console, or whatever you want.

Best thing is, it's Framebuffer, which makes it look like it's an X Server, but starts up alot faster then an X Server.

As for configuring it to use Xgl or X, I'm not sure, but I'm sure it can be done.
Sysadmin of Ubuntu systems and servers....
Although my own server is gentoo....

hmm i got qingy now but it doesn't work.
i also got no real error message.
is it a failure in my settings or another thing?
i've done all like the howto said.

has someone a idea of solution?

I needed to recompile libsdl and DirectFB with the "fbcon" use flag, then add the modes into my directfbrc (I think that's the name of the file, I'll post mine when I get home from work).

It works really well though.

Oh ya, make sure you read the wiki article as well.

okay i got qingy running, however i don't get graphical login just text-base.

i also only miss GUI-login.

hoe do i solve that?
