Can anyone recommend an application that are able to convert an audio tune recorded in stereo to mono?
It doesn't need to mix the channels as it's the same sound on both of the channels.

If you open an audio file with audacity, you should see (the beginning of) the filename on th left side of the waveform. If you click on the name, you get a drop-down menu which contains "split stereo track". If you do this and click on the little cross in the top left corner of the second track (close it), then you have a mono track. You can then export it to wav, mp3 or ogg via File-Export as ...".Nimo wrote:I have tried Audacity but I really can't understand how to accomplish this task with Audacity.
How do I remove just one of the channels with Audacity?

Code: Select all
sox stereo_file.wav -t wav -s -w -c 1 mono_file.wav
