ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20060302 breaks VLC

I just updated world, and got upgraded from ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20051216 to ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20060302, which broke VLC. (Got error in VLC saying XVID isn't supported)

I tried remerging vlc-0.8.4a-r1 after ffmpeg 0.4.9_p20060302 was emerged, but that didn't fix it.

Downgrading to ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20061216 fixed it again though.

Same here with xine: I re-emerged xine-lib as the ffmpeg ebuild said, but it didn't help a bit.
There are already several bugs opened about that version: like [bug=124802]this one[/bug].

Bye

Hi!
Same problem here. Reverting to the stable version of ffmepg solved it.
Xine says

Code: Select all

xine: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.1/xineplug_decode_ff.so: undefined symbol: pp_get_context
and vlc only plays the sound of movie files.
Mplayer works fine with p20060302. Recompliling xine-lib and vlc didn't help either.
