Gnopernicus is not working (does not speak)

Hi All:
I have been using Gentoo for about six months now and I really like it. However, I have not been able to get gnopernicus working. I can merge it and it will start, but it does not speak. If I look at the processes running the process "festival-synthesis-driver" is using 100% of my CPU time and it will not die. I have to kill it using the -9 switch...
Can someone point me in some direction. I am frustraded and don't know where to turn to. I have been trying to get this working for the last month or so. I even made a new (test) gentoo install, and had the same results.

same problem here.
The lastest version of gnopernicus is 1.0.0!
the ebuilds in portage are those from 0.12.0 perhaps we should try to contribute with the ebuild?

I don't know how to make it though...

Hi:
I know man. This problem is driving me crazy. I don't know what to do. I don't think the problem is with Gnopernicus though. It looks like the problem is between the gnome-speech and festival packages. The "festival-synthesis-driver" program is part of the gnome-speech package. Will see if I have the time to look at the 1.0 verssion of gnopernicus some time. So far, no luck...
