Has anyone succedded in running freenx from a USB stick? I'm looking for a way to access my computer when I'm in an internet cafe. I know I can use vnc web-based client, but freenx is much faster. Is there any way to do that? For example, single file client, USB-strick based installation, or web-based freenx client? Would be sooo cool...
Thanks maserding for the help. For "religious" reasons I would prefer to recreate what you've done, rather than simply running an unknown executable on my Winblows box.
Could you maybe give me some hint on how you've done it? Did you simply copy the installation into the USB stick? I could think of many reasons why this might not work... dlls, registry key entries, configuration files from home folder, etc. Did you take any special care, or simply copy the program folder and it simply worked? Thanks
I did this by installing directly to the USB key when I did the windows install. Everything works fine so far. I haven't tried it on a different PC, so I'm not sure if a different drive letter would throw things off.
If your key is tight on space, try using UPX on the exe's and dll's.
