configurare sane

posseggo unscanner scanworks 600u che sembra essere supportato da sane...
seguendo questa guida ho tentato di configurarlo ma niente ....

ho caricato i seguenti moduli...
ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd

e ho tentato un

Guarda anche il wiki.
Contiene un howto più aggiornato, che prevede anche l'uso di coldplug e del demone usbscanner.

purtroppo nn sono riuscito a risolverlo comunque il problema...

qui penso dicano (correggetemi se sbaglio... che devo avere il kernel 2.4 pacchato.... io ora uso il 2.6...
come faccio a sapere se è comunquue compatibile?? devo per forza usare il 2.4?

Tenderei ad escluderlo. Sarebbe troppa sfiga.
Consolati perché, preso da mania di capire il tuo problema, ho prova sul mio sistema e ...
Ho avuto lo stesso risultato

In pratica, sane-find-scanner vede il dispositivo mentre scanimage -L no. Nemmeno lanciato da root.
Eppure saranno venti giorni fa avevo usato lo scanner, configurandolo sulla base del wiki.
Il fatto è che appena aggiorni udev, dbus etc. etc., quelli cambiano un epsilon le sintassi o i file di confiugrazione e ti ritrovi a piedi. In questo senso, gentoo è troppo mobile.
Non posso pensarci subito, ma per intanto, ho notato che i privilegi di /proc/bus/usb/ ... non cambiano nel modo corretto.

mmm... è una pessima situazione...
è assurdo avere uno scanner e nn poterlo usare... (cmq faccio notare che la LG ha emesso i driver per il mio scanner esclusivamente per Win98 )
e di certo nn mi posso lamentare della mia amata gentoo... sta di fatto che il mio problema resta...

in due parole cosa posso tentare di fare? thk
