Vmware and gdk-pixbuf problems

After I rebooted today I am having a problem with my vmware installation. It doesn't load, and it gives me the following errors about gdk-pixbuf.

So I chmod'd those files to 444, and now I get this error:

If your umask in /etc/profile is set to something other than 022 (e.g., 077), try reverting to 022 and emerging vmware-workstation again. Don't forget to source /etc/profile or restart your environment before performing the emerge.

Thanks, but my umask is 022 already. I've had to use my windows hard drive unfortunately for the whole christmas break because my system is screwed up. Any other ideas?

Try removing the /opt/vmware directory and emerging vmware-workstation again (hopefully the structure will be rebuilt with the correct permissions).

Hi

I had the same problem a few days ago. But I forgot the solution to fix this

. I think it was anything with `cp -a /etc/gtk-2.0/* /opt/vmware/workstation/lib/libconf/etc/` and `chmod -R 755 /opt/vmware/workstation/`.

because vmware can succesfully run under root, it must be permission problem
