Sound doesn't work after boot

  • Quote

Post by azcoder » Thu Dec 15, 2005 2:43 pm

I am in the process of setting up Gentoo on an AMD64.

I got my soundcard working following one of the gentoo desktop config guides.

Everything works great. but after reboot it stops working.

udevstart and alsaconf get it working again.

Is udevstart automatically run a startup? How do I check that? Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks fir any advice

By default in /etc/conf.d/alsasound is set to

Code: Select all

RESTORE_ON_START="no"
SAVE_ON_STOP="no"
Set those setting to "yes" .

Hope that it helped

I have both those settings in alsasound conf file.

Still same problem.

Upon reboot, I have to manually udevstart then run alsaconf all over again...

Anyone else seen this behavior? I think udev isn't recognizing the sound device at boot....but why?

Thanks for any tips

I've got the same problem. I've followed the step in the latter. When I change RC-DEVICES from auto of udev, I keep having the problem. Any other suggestions?
