Vmware 64bit client not working

Hi.

I have a Revision D Amd64 processor (4000+) and according to their site 64bit clients should work but it doesn't. I get this message:

You have configured this virtual machine as a 64-bit guest operating system. However, this host's CPU is not capable of running 64-bit virtual machines or this virtual machine has 64-bit support disabled.

Is it working for anyone, and have I missed something? I've checked around in the options menus but I can't find anything.

Works fine on my X2, maybe revision D is still not new enough.

Ok, weird. Because it says:

Support for 64-bit guest operating systems

Workstation 5.5 supports virtual machines with 64-bit guest operating systems only on host machines that have one of the supported 64-bit processors:

* AMD Athlon 64, revision D or later
* AMD Opteron, revision E or later
* AMD Turion 64, revision E or later
* AMD Sempron, 64-bit-capable revision D or later (experimental support)
* Intel EM64T VT-capable processors (experimental support)

well it's not vmware, but it basically does the same, only for free and with seperate 64bit-client

I use it and I'm quite satisfied with it (there's a really good howto on the forum somewhere)

You may be running a non-supported 64bits cpu (like AMD64 socket 754)
to check it simply download the vmware 64bits check tool:

I pressumed it ran the same test as the vmware-workstation program... Well it turned out non compatible. So I'm wondering, is SSE3 the culprit here? Sure I've tried Qemu but my experiences with it haven't been so good. I've also heard that XP performance is pretty bad and I like the ease of Vmware.
