Earphone fatigue

One of the things I miss from Windows was a plugin for Winamp and foobar that made it less fatiguing to listen to music through headphones:

It made it seem less as if the music was being slammed straight into your eardrums.

Does anyone know if there's anything similar in the linux world? Are there any music players that will work with winamp or foobar plugins?

There is a plugin for beep media player which looks similar (i haven't used the one you mention).

emerge beep-media-player
it is similar to winamp 3 i believe? it also takes the same skins

Plugins for it are here: http://www.sosdg.org/~larne/w/Plugin_list

Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out. Also, I see from another thread that foobar seems to work under wine, so I can always fall back on that if need be.

I just noticed that VLC seems to have this built in (preferences > Audio > Filters > Headphone Effect).
