Emerge gentoo-sources can't resolve genpatch file 2.6.12-10

Having problems with the Gentoo Handbook? If you're still working your way through it, or just need some info before you start your install, this is the place. All other questions go elsewhere.

Emerge gentoo-sources can't resolve genpatch file 2.6.12-10

Hi, I'm installing Gentoo 2005.1 (stage3) from the universal install cd on my AMD64. It was going pretty well, until I had to download some kernel patches. I have downloaded the kernel succesfully, but then emerge wants to download the file: genpatches-2.6.12-10.base.tar.bz2
It logs in succesfully onto the host FTP servers, but none of the mirrors seem to contain the file. I've looked for it mannually using a webbrowser, but I can only find files like genpatches-2.6.12-11.base.tar.bz2 instead of the version emerge is trying to find.

Is this a known problem? What do I have to do next? I followed the manual quite strictly, but I just can't go further while this file is still missing. Without this genpatch I can't find the kenel source symlink in /usr/src/linux/

Can you please give your awnser in English that I understand? In the form of some litteral steps I can execute, just like the gentoo install manual?\

Thanks,
David (Holland)

I don't know why you cannot find it on any mirrors but I can help you solve it :D

As root, 'cd /usr/portage/distfiles/' then 'wget http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd/genpatches/t ... se.tar.bz2'

You should now be able to 'emerge gentoo-sources' and continue with the handbook.
