IPW2200, then Bridging?

  • Quote

Post by SteakTheMooCow » Mon Oct 31, 2005 12:22 am

I'm trying to setup a laptop with an IPW2200 to function as an AP...

I'm not even sure if the IPW2200 works atm. iwconfig shows this...

Since you have an E1000 ethernet driver, we can assume that this is 'eth0'.

Your focus would be eth1.

I'd try

Code: Select all

# ifconfig eth1 up
# ifconfig eth1
and see if that works...

At first nothing... now I get this after a recompile of the drivers (Ffs)

Code: Select all

dancer ~ # ifconfig eth1
eth1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-39-00-00-63-CB-81-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:1 dropped:1 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)

heh. Stupid thing gave me "no device" or some crap before a recompile (updated to 2.6.13 kernel)
