I seems there is a problem with kmobile ebuild:

Code: Select all

[...]
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: executing depfiles commands

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

/usr/local/portage-bmg/eclass/kde-meta.eclass: line 494: pushd: /var/tmp/portage/kmobile-7/work/branches/KDE/3.5/kdepim/doc/kmobile: No existe el fichero o el directorio

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kmobile-7 failed.
!!! Function kde-meta_src_compile, Line 494, Exitcode 1
!!! kde-meta_src_compile: unable to change directory to {S}/doc/kmobile
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

sync and try again.

ps: you can post bugs here rather then in this thread.

Actually ktech knows that doesn't he? ;) *wink*

@Bonkie: I found this app to have a voice converstaion and it seems to be really nice. Uses the open speex codec and can also be encrypted, supports alsa too.

I am trying to force some friends to compile it now ;)

http://ihu.sourceforge.net/

Maybe we can add it to kde-live?
Would be nice :)

For me arts fails too but I guess we can wait until tomorrow if it gets fixed, maybe it's just a problem in svn right now.

HAL + pmount

Post by mario » Thu Oct 13, 2005 6:28 pm

It seems they have unmasked hal-0.5 and now kde's media:// protocol doesn't work. Also /etc/hal/device.d is now missing after the ebuild asked me to remove it before emerging and the tips for pmount can no longer apply.

Anyone give an advice on how to fix this?

I have hal-0.5.4 and media:/ works fine after recompiling kdelibs and kioslaves.

U might wanna recompile k3b as well, it also depends on dbus/hal libraries. I usually run revdep-rebuild after a library update ;)

Is anyone here using Kaffeine with the gstreamer backend?
I am trying to get it work but I can't use alsasink as output, only oss which I don't want to use.

Crashed for me the last time I tried to use the gstreamer backend with it. I guess it's not supported very well yet and in an really early stage.

when will genKDEsvn switch to kde 4? with kde3.5 beta2 being out, there's less and less reason for me to use the svn tree, when there's no possibility to circumvent the fix on branch/3.5

i found hints in the eclasses that you might already be preparing for a switch (ebuildname-8.0.ebuild e.g. would be using branches/KDE/4.0, ebuildname-8.1.ebuild should use /trunk/KDE)...

When kde3.5 IS released, and yes we are preparing for kde4 although nothing's concrete yet.

the crashes related to invisibility in gcc-4.0.2 seem to be related to broken libstdc++, so try upgrading to gcc-4.1 ... (or downgrading)

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111115

I've upgraded to gcc-4.1_beta and the crashes seem to have disappeared.
