Which Kernel should i use?

Which Window Manger should i Use?

My PC:
MSI K7D Master
AMD Duron 1100Mhz
Nvidia Geforce4 MX4000 64MB
SB Live Value 5.1
52x CD-ROM
That's the basic info.

Which is faster qemu or vmware?

I heard that Enlightment is the fastest but like KDE as well. Also i like ck-sources but do not know if i should use them or not.

1. I would recommend using gentoo-sources.

2. If you like kde, use kde.

gentoo-sources are prolly your best bet for a kernel choice.

As far as window manager, I like KDE, but they all have their benefits and drawbacks.

Well since you dont know I would sugest KDE because there can be done a lot with mouse and it is closest to ?? Windows ??
But there may be bether to try some uder linux OS version for a few weeks,months....because Gentoo will take some of your time and if you dont have paicent
you will get filling like there is something wrong with Gentoo OS....But it is still wery good choice...if you folow handbook,forums,...and trying do do things beter, with less mistakes each time and all by your selfe....I belive that we(from win to linux firs time) have all using alot of forums here.....and you will see the people like to help wery much and wery soon...Also try fedora core 4 to get a picture about linux OS and than ATTACK Gentoo with all power to learn...

Just because I'm feeling particularly pedantic tonight: the OP asked for a window manager, not a DE :P

Ok, with that out of the way, I would recommend kwin (KDE's window manager) on gentoo-sources -- which is to say I would recommend KDE on gentoo-sources. Though, I suppose if you were wierd, you could use kwin on another desktop environment. :) KDE has treated me well in the past and I like some of the GUI themes and most of the technologies they have under the hood, though I could do without some of the oversized menus :).

But like others have said, it is all about your particular tastes. If you don't want to install 80 bajillion window managers or desktop environments just to try them out, you could check out some live-CDs like Knoppix, Gnoppix, Ubuntu, or Mandriva.
This post brought to you by the letters: T, U, and X, and by the numbers 2 and 6.
