I had that problem once too. I realized, that changing the update interval from 15 to 30 minutes helped. To me, it seems like the weather service doesn't like it being contacted too often :?

If you debug it, you'll find out a message saying that rssweather does not update the data in shorter intervals than 1h. Hence, setting it for more frequent updates will just load the service for no reason.

Just updated enlightenment and i get this error when running "enlightenment_remote -module-load engage"
There was an error module named: Engage
No module named Engage/linux-gnu-i686/module.so could b found in the module search directories

i emerged everything in the right order and engage was indeed part of that. im using the default theme so it shouldnt b an old theme error

yeah, it got broken somehow. it is supposedly fixed now, but you have to add in declarations for int i on 2 parts of e_border.c (or just wait for the new cvs commit, heh) to get e to compile.

I just succesfully emerged e, adding the two "int i" declarations to e_border.c, but now "enlightenment_remote -module-load engage" simply results in the segfault dialog :cry: . Not much of an improvement yet, but I have patience :) .

Silly me, I neglected to recompile engage. It now loads successfully.

Unfortunately, now engage registers all of my windows as "Unmatched". Recreating them seems to fix the problem, but I'd prefer not to have to recreate all of them. Does anyone know of a quick fix for this?

Thanks,
Aaron

[EDIT] Recreating them only temporarily fixed the problem. Once I restart, everything is back to "Unmatched"

will building e17 replace e16? I emerged enlightenment and got 16.x, and decided to try e17.

Also, I got an error following the instructions on the howtoe17 gentoo wiki. It was a compile failure emerging the e module. Is this because I did something wrong, or just something was checked into CVS when it shouldnt have been?

e17 will not replace e16.

The Gentoo Wiki page has an incorrect building order, or so I am told. Use the one on http://www.get-e.org/ as that is the "correct" one.

That error is caused by an incorrect build order.

In this screenshot: http://www.get-e.org/Screenshots/User_S ... enshot.png
there is an application for checking mail. Is it a module for e17? Where can I get it?
Thanks!

Right now... theming is not very high on to-do list.

However, the commenting of the edc files is. Open up the engage edc file and see if it's been commented yet. Alternatively, you can look in the default theme files and see there. Edje syntax is the same.

I'm having the exact same problem! I can open the programs with engage, but all of them register as "unmatched".

I can open up applications, but none of the icons appear on the window headers or on the window listing.

So if anyone has fixed it, please tell me!

Thanks

Might be a stupid question but... did you convert your eapp files to eap ?

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I tend to backup my e17 (and the apps) before rebuilding them. This way I always have a working copy, regardless of any broken stuff in CVS.

Code: Select all

# quickpkg e && emerge e
then (in case of a broke e):

Code: Select all

# emerge -C e && emerge -K e
Lesson - Never, ever emerge CVS stuff without backing your working copy first.

Yes I did change the eapp files to eap. I can get the icons back if I do e_util_eapp_edit on each one over again. But once I restart everything goes back to unmatched.

Furthermore as of right now (8:00 Eastern USA) I'm getting this error when I try to update e.

Code: Select all

It appears the CVS server is a bit flakey today.

Since I'm here, I've been having trouble with esmart. I've been trying to compile this for a couple weeks and I get:

I installed everything in the proper order. I re-installed imlib2 a few times and I even re-installed everything up to esmart, just to double-check the order. Here are my CFLAGS and USE flags for my G4:

Code: Select all

CFLAGS="-O2 -mcpu=7450 -mtune=7450 -maltivec -mabi=altivec -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe"
USE="alsa altivec -kde -qt gtk gtk2 -gnome mozilla cups foomaticdb ppds -arts -ipv6 aac -arts"

This means CVS server is having issues. Keep trying.

Seems I'll have to update to check things out huh? :P

*edit* Works fine here (dev CVS - so you might have to wait a lil while). Themes are broken (as noted before) and e_modules still isn't fixed. Maybe it is for others but here it stull uses _all_ the resources. I'll just use my backups for the time being.
If someone solves a problem for you say thanks... and put [SOLVED] in the title!

key bindings - actions

Post by Mooses » Tue Sep 27, 2005 7:01 am

Hi guys

having used enlightenment_remote to define my keybindings I still miss some features that I would really like e.g. windor moving, resizing, taking with when switching desktops...

Is there a list of actions that are understood? (or otherwise: where are they defined?)

Have Fun
