:oops:i've been following this guide trying to get my DWL-520 up and working on a stage 3 but I can't figure out how to get the files off my floppy

so I need to install portage but obviousily can't do that if the interweb won't even work
I hvae the necasarry files on a floppy
i'm using Universal CD x86 2005.0, thanks for any help..

mkdir /mnt/floppy
mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

is it that what you mean?

i've been doing that and got nothing but buffer I/O errors saying something about filesystems...

if your filesystem is fat you have to do this:

mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy

hi now that works but i'm following the guide and I can't even make a directory I get errors like "read only file system" and things like that. I really need to get it up and working because i';m posting on my moms laptop.

make sure the little "lock" thing on the floppy is not locked to make the disk read only

i'm trying to do this :

mkdir /usr/src/linux-2.6.0-test6-mm1/drivers/net/wireless/acx100/firmware and copy the files (that have been downloaded above) WLANGEN.BIN RADIO0d.BIN and RADIO11.BIN into this directory
