Not ut2k3 or ut2k4 but the original unrealtournament released in 1999! I finally got ut installed on my linux box, but I am having 3 main problems.

1) my screen is very dark. The windows version had a similar problem but I was able to fix that with the updated opengl driver. So how do I fix this problem in linux?
2) how do I bind weapons to mouse keys in linux? will I have to bind my mouse keys to keyboard keystrokes?

I don't know if these problems are related to the fact that I am running ut on Gentoo amd64. But if anyone knows how to fix any of these please let me know.

Do you have a /dev/dsp?

add this to .xinitrc.ut

exec /usr/bin/ut
xgamma -gamma .9.9 (if this is still too dark change to ur preference)

add this to /usr/bin/ut99

#!/bin/bash
startx ~/.xinitrc.ut -- :3

type ut99 to start ut on a new X server with the new gamma settings

to get the side mouse buttons on my mx510 working i added this to /etc/xorg.conf
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
and this to the .xinitrc
xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5" &
