i´m trying to emerge apmd on my laptop -- its pretty vital for its functionality but each time i try emerge it spits out this error:

Code: Select all

Try using

Code: Select all

gcc-config -l
gcc-config [1 or 2 or ...]
and if it won't help
try

Code: Select all

fix_libtool_files.sh 3.3.5
Refer to http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-279020.html

Try putting crtendS.o and crtbeginS.o (which I found in /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.6/ but you can just 'locate crtbeginS.o crtendS.o' to find them) into the /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/ directory. That did the trick since crti.o and crtn.o were already in /usr/lib/.

Moved from Kernel & Hardware to Duplicate Threads in favour of [topic=281660]jpeg-6b-r4 fails to compile, fix_libtool_files.sh is no help[/topic].
