Three monitor setup with two Geforce cards help needed

Abstract: I can run two monitors on a AGP Geforce 4, but can't run a third monitor on a seperate PCI Geforce 2[/i] at the same time.

My setup is:

3 LCD monitors (Dell 1905FP/ NEC LCD1560M/ NEC LCD1560V)
Two graphics cards (AGP Geforce 4 with DVI and VGA / PCI Geforce 2 with VGA)
x86 architecture
nvidia driver

Attached below are my log file, my xorg.conf and the output of lspci.

I have spent a good amount of time trying to fix this, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated becase, let's face it, three LCDs running at once kick ass. If I get it working, I can post a picture.

Hi,

From a quick scan through your logs there, the only thing that I can see is the following warning:

(WW) NVIDIA: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:6:0) found

so then stuff is failing after not finding the card itself in the config file...

The PCI address in your xorg.conf file seems right so I don't know why it isnt seeing the second card device section. Try a different driver version? I only have a single card in my machine so I can't test it.

I had tried nvidia, nv and vga.

I noticed that somebody else had had this problem when looking at the xorg lists, so I think this is a bug.

Just a thought:

Open-source/community-based doesn't seem to be very good at solving hard problems. You guys do a wonderful job when answering the smaller RTFM and sometimes solve-by-a-trick problems, but nobody has ever been able to really help with the hard problems.

This isn't a rant.

Very true! I'm also having xorg issues - it seems the best way to deal with major issues to ask on xorg's mailing lists; the same goes to all important issues. If it's a kernel issue, ask at the kernel mailing list.

The xorg list wasn't responsive either. In the end, I bought a new graphics card since I believe you can't run two nvidia cards at once for some reason.

That should work... use that, then just add your 3rdscreen/ second card as a seperate entry the whole way through... sorted
