E17 is coming?? (Part 2)

yes, I have, and I don't know what the hell is goin on, it's my first time compiling from CVS anyway.

I got no clue, the 2 preceding packages went well.. I followed this guide:

Ok, it continues to emerge now, I can't copy the exact thing I did, but, I did a USE="-directfb" and the other thing with fb.... one of the two seemed to have fixed it (cause I tried once with only the other fb thing)

Thanks for replying. I do think it is the CVS which is broken, since I tried out the compilation manually (in the /usr/portage/distfiles....), and it failed in the very same step. Secondly, I deleted the entire evas cvs directory, and then checked out the cvs again and met with the same error on recompilation.

Well, I don't exactly know what is the difference (for example fvwm has a LOT more options if I remember right). However, in the default settings, if you want to raise the window by clicking on anywhere on the window, then try Alt+Left Mouse click.

It compiles with +fbcon. Weird

I didn't have that flag set yesterday.

Sanjioh, if that was the question you still liked to have answered, I must dissapoint you. Evas does not replace xorg/x11. It has to be run on X or directfb (never tried that mysel though...).

They are just broken at the moment. We just have to wait till they get fixed in cvs again.

Not just broken - intentionally removed. As far as I know, keybindings are getting an overhaul.

Anyone getting a problem whereby you start a game up on one desktop, move to the edge to go to another whilst having the game running ( a feature that i absolutely love btw ) but all other desktops are black, then upon quitting the game the desktop the game was running in also is black which then requires an X restart. Was working perfectly till i updated e yesterday.

I haven't noticed that yet (because I don't have any games installed), but I would be willing to bet that this has to do with all the work sebastid has been doing on the expand/fill/maximize/maximize-zoom/fullscreen modes as of late...There have been a lot of changes to that effect, and he's obviously not finished completing that portion of the code as there continue to be cvs commits (I just noticed another one a couple minutes ago).

Yep, I know the one. I get it with mplayer, when you quit mplayer in fullscreen mode the desktop is black. To get my desktop back, I start mplayer, make the window fullscreen, then un-fullscreen it, and my desktop is back.

My guess for this behaviour comes from this CVS commit:

Commit by sebastid :: e17/apps/e/src/bin/ (e_border.c e_container.c e_container.h):
Make the bg black when doing fullscreen.

I'm guessing this code doesn't take into account destroyed windows yet, so like jxn said, you'll have to wait until it's fixed.

Well now its only the desktop that i run the game in that remains black, all the other desktops are fine, so not really that big an issue now. Thanks for the input.

last minute build and ive got no eapps in ibox, enagage or menus.
all disappeared. were there any changes ?

CVS changelog says that all eapp files are now eap. The perl utility rename just became your new best friend. Be sure to change your .order files too.

there is default submenu configuration in which there should be emblem and entangle.
ibe got eaps for them

I had to do the following to get them to show up again:

/usr/share/enlightenment/config-apps/
mv emblem.eapp emblem.eap
mv entangle.eapp entangle.eap

because all eapps are now eaps.
