Great work, it is so fast - unbelievable. But I have had problems to run it, the first was the documentation - if selected the ebuild runs into sandbox problems. The second was the nfs server, it doesn't compile, without it all compiles clean. Third the vesatng or how it is called, seems to be totally borked in the last time, I couldn't change consoles and if I try, the whole thing is cold freezed - outcompiled. But the rest is wonderful - alsa with integrated dmix and speed, so much speed:::)))
Seems that hal runs, but nothing is automounted, but I run the newest hal and use initng and I don't see any strange messages.

Is there anything in the logs about this, also if it oops can you capture the text?
Besides the oops I already mentioned in this thread (this post), there's not much information, 'hald --daemon=no --verbose=yes' doesn't give me more than 3 lines of output.

Should I test some other patch?
Have you tried booting with a different IO scheduler, just to rule out CFQ-ts as the cause? (I noticed you didn't apply that patch to your test kernel)

I doubt the cause is CFQ-TS, as I'm using it right now with the patched vanilla and everything is working perfectly. Anyway, I'll reboot with -rc5-love1 with Anticipatory.

EDIT: As I suspected, it didn't help.

About the new gentopia, there is generally a bug in the bugzilla http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91928 and accordingly there is overlay, which I used http://dev.gentoo.org/~npmccallum/overlay. I don't know what are the differences between the two overlays, this from bugzilla works ok. But I can confirm, that hal is running but there is no automounting, I'll restart to be sure if it is working in the older kernel.

The automounting doesn't also work in 2.6.11-ck8, so it is not bug in love-sources. About hal not starting, probably there is sth new in the kernel, which doesn't work with the old hal.

Correction, all works now. It was probably initng or the dbus/hal versions. I upgraded from https://dev.cardoe.com/gentopia/wiki and have no more problems.
