GUI for MySQL - which one?

  • Quote

Post by Roxxor » Tue May 24, 2005 11:42 am

For a year ago I used MysqlCC for managing my databases.
It is now masked and Mysql has been bigger and newer.

So I'm wondering if Mysqlcc still is good or if I should use another GUI?

I use mysqlcc, but phpmyadmin is very nice.

Ok, I emerged both phpadmin and mysqlcc.

When I go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin a login box appears.
Where do I set username and password?

You can log in with your root user and password and create the databases from phpmyadmin. If you haven't set your mysql root password then it will be blank.

Also, if you use a GTK based desktop, (Gnome, XFCE etc) then mysql-administrator and mysql-query-browser are quite nice too.

If you want to manage your DB, use mysql-administrator.
Are you intolerant of intolerant people? Tired of being PC yet?

mysql-administrator and mysql-query-browser are good options as long as you are not running an amd64 system. And not all of us want to be running a webserver just to have mysql access. Any other thoughts?

Even on a normal x86, mysql-query-browser is instable as hell.
