Thats precisely why they wouldn't make good PR people. The "face of Gentoo" needs to have some charisma...
so you're suggesting we need the same PR person as everone else? As someone who worked in PR in london i tell you, people like a change, someone who tells them straight. Now if you had have said that perhaps ciaranm can be too abrasive at times then it would have given creedence to what you were saying, unfortunately we can see you have no idea what you are on about.
Lokheed wrote:This has got to be the most idiotic comment I have seen in a long time: "If people don't get it, they're never going to get it." Take a bow...
you dont seem to have yet and i cant bother explaining it to you
Lokheed wrote:Next time you need a question answered or ask for something, and the person yells and you or treats you abusively or maliciously, then you have absolutely no right to complain...according to your own words that is...
I've never seen ciaranm talk like that to someone who didn't deserve it. He gets annoyed when people say "can you help me with this error" and then dont give the error or what they were doing when they got it.
Oh due let me retort. Was I even talking to you? Why dont you go shove your little nose somewhere else because I dont really care what you have to say. What's that I hear? Its the sound of butting in...it's gotta be cokehabit, now let's argue about why we all like blue over red...you are truly the last angry man.

Hi, my name is cokehabit and I do nothing with my time but cause conflict and post low-brow replies on gentoo.forums.org. Yours is a life truly wasted and squandered. Give your liver and your kidneys to someone who really deserves them and...donate the rest to science, actually help out...just pathetic.

Go away, it's Monday.

But if you really wanted to "prove me wrong" on a subjective statement (giggles). You could do a survey of a representative sample of PR people across the world. Show me the percentage of them that are gruff and "tell it like it is" compared to ones that have charisma and sugar coat it all. You show me the numbers or you crawl back under your rock. As the white man said to the black man in the bathroom: Prove it!
You're not afraid of the dark are you?

Lokheed, I understand your frustration with cokehabit. Responding to him while emotionally charged is only going to back fire on you. Please think twice before you hit "submit" next time. This is an official warning in response to a complaint..

That is exactly why there was a thread made regarding his behaviour. He insights the fire and the victims get the stern hand waved in their faces. Next time a mugger violently steals the purse of an innocent woman, you better scauld the woman on why she was out so late and why she was carrying a purse in a known dangerous part of town...

Something just doesnt add up here.

I did think twice before hitting submit but I had to get it off my chest. I appreciate you giving me a warning rather than simply banning away but "rewarding" his behaviour is not going to improve anything and punishing the victims is just going to be really counter-productive.

while ciaranm's opinions are probably more or less accurate, I dont think his attitude is quite what gentoo has been about.
gentoo has always been very tolerent, helpful and more or less nice.
ciaranm gets his kicks pointing out who's wrong, which is something I'd more associate with debian irc moderators.
anyhow, thats my annual serious comment ....
/me toddles off.

Well, let's not turn this into another Cokehabit thread.

i don't know about the face, but it looks like we have quite a few candidates in the running for the ass.

i nominate Christopher Walken for Gentoo Overlord.
by design, by neglect
for a fact or just for effect
