Hi there, I'm setting up a network of 5 comuters with a D-Link 16-Port 10/100Mbps Switch (DES-1016D).
Just finished to a working Gentoo Desktop [quite pleased with the results!] though the network is not really working. With just 2 computers the (the other one has gentoo w/o desktop) its loosing packets. The computers are all identical.

Code: Select all

Intercon root # ping 192.168.0.2
PING 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.0.2: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.178 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.2: icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=0.166 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.2: icmp_seq=10 ttl=64 time=0.169 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.2: icmp_seq=12 ttl=64 time=0.168 ms

--- 192.168.0.2 ping statistics ---
12 packets transmitted, 4 received, 66% packet loss, time 10997ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.166/0.170/0.178/0.010 ms
Any help will be greatly appreciated, I've got to get this ready to go in 10 hours.
