Actually, something interesting about that... Their project leader isn't anything to do with the releases. That's the release manager's job. I could post some sarcastic commentary about that, but I don't think I need to...jdgill0 wrote:You see how long it's taking Debian to get their next release out the door! All the press releases they get and having a project leader doesn't seem to be moving things along any better does it? Ubuntu is on the verge of knocking Debian out!! (IMO)

You'll be looking forward to it for a long time. There is no Gentoo/OpenSlowaris port planned.stonent wrote:I happen to be looking forward to some of Pieter's projects. Especially Gentoo/OpenSolaris.

Finally someone putting ciaranm in his place when he is WRONG! That is nice to see.SeJo wrote:ciaranm get your facts straight,

An opinion? You mean "a notion or conviction founded on probable evidence"? That sounds quite possible, but if you meant "a personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof or certainty" then perhaps what you have just stated is the opinion. An actual counterargument wouldn't be so much your personal belief to oppose that of ciaranm, but rather some sort of contrary proof. Namely, solid evidence that pvdabeel's "hyped up bullshit" will "get somewhere".stonent wrote:"that will never get anywhere"ciaranm wrote:Truth hurts.stonent wrote:That's not nice.ciaranm wrote:pvdabeel (for hyped up bullshit that will never get anywhere).
Sounds more like an opinion to me.
I happen to be looking forward to some of Pieter's projects. Especially Gentoo/OpenSolaris.
I suppose that makes more sense than doing it when he is right. Stonent, please take notes, this is the kind of counter-example I like to see.gentoo_lan wrote:Finally soeone putting ciaranm in his place when he is WRONG! That is nice to see.SeJo wrote:ciaranm get your facts straight,

No, that's a pvdabeel unsubstantiated press release. If you believed all the crap he put out, we'd've had pathspec and portage-ng over a year ago. Remember that pvdabeel isn't allowed to recruit anyone to work on this either.SeJo wrote:ciaranm get your facts straight,

Sadly, I'm not wrong. The above link is a perfect example of what my original comment in this thread was about.gentoo_lan wrote:Finally soeone putting ciaranm in his place when he is WRONG! That is nice to see.
Gentoo didn't say anything. Pvdabeel said it, and Gentoo Weekly News (who are an unofficial news publication who do not necessarily follow the official Gentoo view on things) published it. Officially, we have no stance on OpenSlowaris and we have no plans to port things to it.jholz7 wrote:I'm a bit confused here. So you're saying Gentoo has been lying about the things it's going to do or not do? How are we supposed to know what is "substantiated" vs. "unsubstantiated"? Or is this just some internal disagreement?
Thats the dumbest "mascott" and an everlasting testimate to the idiot who didnt know that cows are females and bulls are males...a constant reminder of just how dumb people can be.curtis119 wrote:We already have a face on gentoo. Larry the transexual cow.

I like tux. Gentoo mascott could probably be a gentoo penguinLokheed wrote:Thats the dumbest "mascott" and an everlasting testimate to the idiot who didnt know that cows are females and bulls are males...a constant reminder of just how dumb people can be.curtis119 wrote:We already have a face on gentoo.
