dvd ripping using k3b breaks

  • Quote

Post by tuxfan » Sat Apr 16, 2005 1:17 pm

Hi,

today I've tried to rip a dvd with k3b, but it fails. I get an error, that k3b do not work with transcode > 0.6.12.
I have installed the following versions:

Code: Select all

app-cdr/k3b
      Latest version available: 0.11.23
      Latest version installed: 0.11.23

media-video/transcode
      Latest version available: 0.6.12-r1
      Latest version installed: 0.6.12-r1
What did I wrong?

the ewarn in the k3b-ebuild is:
Please notice, that K3b does not support ripping Video DVDs with >=media-video/transcode-0.6.12.
just try a version < 0.6.12

transcode <0.6.12 doesn't support amd64 afaik that's why the transcode dependency used to be !amd64.

there are lots of other programs that are amd64 compatible that are capable of ripping DVDs. do a search on the forums and you'll get a bunch of hints.
