Canon S450 drivers not appearing [SOLVED]

  • Quote

Post by Andy Sz » Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:14 pm

I have a Canon S450 connected through my USB port. When I enter the CUPS browser-based interface, the printer is detected as connected to USB #1. I have emerged cups (obviously), ghostscript, footmatic, and gimp-print. According to linuxprinting.org, this should be enough for me to get the drivers.

I stopped and then restarted cupsd.

Nothing.

I rebooted.

Nothing.

What am I missing?

Andy Sz,

Does the CUPS test page work ?

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

Nothing was working. I just checked my make.conf and saw that I did not have the ppds USE flag set. Which is odd, because I thought I copied all USE flags from my old install. I added ppds, remerged foomatic and gimp-print and now everything is fine.
