Klibido recompiling downloaded files into 219kb files :(

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

Klibido recompiling downloaded files into 219kb files :(

I have built a new Gentoo system with KDE 3.4 and emerged Klibido 0.2.2.2.

Klibido downloads the parts successfully and you can see these being created in the /home/*username*/klibido/tmp directory but when it recompiles the threads into a file, it always creates files of exactly 219.7kb.

Ive emerged kdebase, kdeadmin, kdenetwork, kdelibs and also manually emerged UUDeview, GCC and Berkeley DB4 and still no change.

There are no errors when klibido emerges the ebuild however but if run ./configure on the original source download it reports the KDE Headers cannot be found so Im wondering if this is the same on the ebuild but is skipped over for some reason on the emerge.

help? :'(

Hello,

i had the same problem when downloading certain files. I did not do further investigation why proper decoding failed; i just switched from UULib to internal in the klibido decoding settings. The decoded files have proper sizes now. Perhaps this will help you, too.

Cheers, Ray.

Same problem for me..

And the fixed worked perfectly.. thanks for the tip.. I hate pan and its eternally large database that seems to need to be ALL in memory all the time. Klibido is the best linux usenet binary downloader out there right now..

Thanks again for the fix.
