Code: Select all

Can not find wxPython modules. Either wxPython is not

for a different version of python interpreter for example).

Try this:

Code: Select all

python
import wxPython
Do you get a prompt or an error message?

Try to do this :

Code: Select all

emerge wxGTK
emerge pyslsk
... and the aliens sent an android down to earth, to slow down mankind's development ... and they named it Bill Gates.

Which version of wxPython are you using?

It seems you may have compiled wxPython with gtk2, but not wxGTK.
The gtk2 version of wxPython isn't as stable as gtk, I'd recommend using -gtk2.

I tried unmerging pyslsk and then emerging it again with -gtk2 and i get this error now...

Code: Select all

Can not find wxPython modules. Either wxPython is not
installed, or it's not in Python's module search path (it could be built
for a different version of python interpreter for example). The current
search path is
['/usr/bin', '/usr/lib/python23.zip', '/usr/lib/python2.3', '/usr/lib/python2.3/plat-linux2', '/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-tk', '/usr/lib/python2.3/lib-dynload', '/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages', '/usr/lib/portage/pym']
but i do have it installed... wxPython-2.4.1.2
it looks like its checking the older python directorys, how do i make pyslsk look for wxPython in the 2.4 directorys?

Edit:
working now :)
Unmerged wxPython and then emerged it with -gtk2 flag and pyslsk worked :)

USE="-static" emerge gtk+ && emerge wxGTK wxpython should do it.
Also USE="-gtk2 -unicode" shoudl help, but you will be forced tyo use the old ugly gtk instead of gtk2

Not if you add dev-python/wxpython -gtk2 to your /etc/portage/package.use file
refer to man portage for more information!
Turns out the pony only had one trick.
