installing without network support

hi all
i'm installing gentoo without network support
now the manual says:

emerge gentoo-sources

nut it can't... also

emerge --usepkgonly gentoo-sources

it says: there are no packages vailable to satisfy "gentoo-sources"
so, what can i do?
can i use the package cd? but how?

What architecture are you using? If x86, then that should function as there are no issues. AMD64 has some issues which require you to emerge =gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r1 instead of emerge gentoo-sources. Dunno if the new AMD64 InstallCDs solve this.

You're not on the Internet using AOL are you?

Anyway, the handbook you quoted is for Internet-based installations. For running networkless installations you need to read http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2 ... ok-x86.xml.
