I recently decided to switch to Fluxbox from Gnome, and everything's going great except for one thing--my system fonts are friggin huge! The fonts that can be specified in a style file are scaled down to where I want them, but there are other fonts whose size I can't seem to change. The text in gedit, the File/Edit/View/Whatever menus at the top of a window, my tab titles in Firefox, my inbox in Thunderbird, etc. are all about twice the size of what I want them to be.
I've scoured Linux forum after Linux forum, but none of the proposed solutions for similar problems were successful with my gentoo 2.6.11-r3/xorg 6.8.2 setup. And strangely, when I open Gnome directly from within the Fluxbox environment, the same fonts in the same applications are sized correctly.
My guess is that the font specification causing the problem is in an xorg-X11 file of some sort (it's not xorg.conf--I've looked there), and that a Gnome configuration file overrides it when Gnome is launched. I think the "it's loading 100dpi fonts instead of 75dpi fonts" answer makes the most sense, but I don't know where to change it.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Chad
