No previews in Konqueror (KDE 3.3.x)

I have previews turned on for Images, Text, etc... but I've yet to see a single preview.

I'm trying to view thumbnails of my images, hovering doesn't even pop up the normal privew in the big tooltip... I have icons on really big (used to be thumbnails last time I used KDE).

Kind of a basic problem, but I've checked all my options, previews are definitly turned on everywhere I see them mentioned.

Any ideas?

i recall i had a similar problem a whle back. do you have an "index.html" in the directory? delete it, and see if this works.
also, there is an option somewhere in the konqueror configuration to use index.html. do not use it.

Howdy, I believe I have the solution to your problem.

EDIT: Do the following in konqueror.

Goto Tools | Settings | Previews & Metadata

In the list of Protocols under the Local Protocols, check of the 'file' protocol. Click apply and ok, and then refresh your window. You should now have previews.
