after emerging --search quake I got a bunch of results - is there so many quakes and are they all with graph & just as I know it from 'windowz'?
after all, plz give me some advice which one should I choose and what to do to play it well...

which ones do you have the cd for? with some googling quake1 can be found online. quake3 requires a cd-key and cd for the paks.

quake3 has the best graphics 8) and qw is really fun. but the mods for all the versions add variety.

Please do not advise people to google for quake 1 data, if that is what you are suggesting.
The source is free as in speech, but the data (pak files) is not free at all.

AAQuake2 is extremely funny to play. but mouse support sucks. argh.

Yeh Quake 3 Arena is the best i just play it after a stressfull day at school i pretend they are my teachers and i blow the living hell out of them:lol:

Ummm yeah...

Anyhow, Quake 1 is great... I still remember buying it (Version 1.0, still have the box that says it was not legal to sell in Europe or US.. got it in September 96 or so..) Cant go wrong with it. Never did like Quake 3, waste of money.. I still have it, but don't play it. And as for Quake 2, umm hrmm.. Bastard child of the three. Lets hope Quake 4 does better than the last two..
