image viewer for multi-format

  • Quote

Post by nielchiano » Mon Mar 07, 2005 3:59 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for a multi-format image viewer. I run KDE, so until now I've been playing with Kuickview.
However, it doesn't support animated GIF's, nor PhotoCD-images.
is there such a tool like ACDSee under windows?

still amazed that there really isn't any decent image viewers on linux....gqview is easily the best out of the bunch though...although it doesn't support animated gifs :/

I'm working on my own image viewer in python :) all this school work :O not getting anything done....from what I've seen it doesnt' seem very difficult to make one....I was having more trouble thinking of a name for it lol

yep, it views images nicely, but I have to close/reopen feh for every image. I can't use my scroll-wheel or pgup-pgdwn to browse through the pictures. (or maybe I didn't try hard enough)

I've recently switched from gqview to gwenview, which is easier on the eye.

... you don't need to close and reopen, just cd to the folder with images and:

Code: Select all

feh *
now focus the feh window and scroll your heart out ;)
