Acid + Php + Mysql problem

Post by ninailer » Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:30 pm

I´ve followed the gentoo-wiki HOWTO for snort, acid and mysql. My problem is that Acid is telling me this error when I go to it´s main page:

Code: Select all

PHP ERROR: PHP build incomplete: the prerequisite MySQL support required to read the alert database was not built into PHP. Please recompile PHP with the necessary library (--with-mysql)
Now, emerge -pv will show me the USE flags and they all seem right:

Code: Select all

[ebuild R ] dev-db/mysql-4.0.23-r2 -berkdb -debug -innodb +perl -readline (-selinux) +ssl -static +tcpd
[ebuild R ] net-www/apache-2.0.52-r2 +apache2 -debug -doc -ldap -mpm-leader -mpm-peruser -mpm-prefork -mpm-threadpool -mpm-worker -no-suexec +ssl -static-modules -threads
[ebuild R ] dev-php/php-5.0.3-r1 -adabas -bcmath -berkdb -birdstep +bzlib +calendar -cdb -cpdflib +crypt -ctype +curl +curlwrappers -db2 -dba +dbase +dbm -dbmaker -dbx -debug -dio -empress -empress-bcs -esoob -exif +fam -fdftk -filepro -flatfile -frontbase -ftp +gd +gd-external -gdbm -gmp -hyperwave-api -iconv -imap -informix -ingres -inifile -interbase -iodbc +jpeg +kerberos -ldap -libedit -mcve -memlimit -mhash -mime -ming -mnogosearch -msession -msql -mssql +mysql -mysqli +ncurses -nis +nls -oci8 -odbc -oracle7 -ovrimos -pcntl +pcre -pfpro +png -posix -postgres -qdbm -readline -recode -sapdb -sasl +session -sharedext -sharedmem -simplexml -snmp -soap +sockets -solid -spell +spl +sqlite +ssl -sybase -sybase-ct -sysvipc -tidy +tiff -tokenizer -truetype -wddx +xml2 -xmlrpc -xpm -xsl +zlib
[ebuild R ] dev-php/mod_php-5.0.3 -adabas +apache2 -bcmath -berkdb -birdstep +bzlib +calendar -cdb -cpdflib +crypt -ctype +curl +curlwrappers -db2 -dba +dbase +dbm -dbmaker -dbx -debug -dio -empress -empress-bcs -esoob -exif +fam -fdftk -filepro -flatfile -frontbase -ftp +gd +gd-external -gdbm -gmp -hyperwave-api -iconv -imap -informix -ingres -inifile -interbase -iodbc +jpeg +kerberos -ldap -libedit -mcve -memlimit -mhash -mime -ming -mnogosearch -msession -msql -mssql +mysql -mysqli +ncurses -nis +nls -oci8 -odbc -oracle7 -ovrimos -pcntl +pcre -pfpro +png -posix -postgres -qdbm -readline -recode -sapdb -sasl +session -sharedext -sharedmem -simplexml -snmp -soap +sockets -solid -spell +spl +sqlite +ssl -sybase -sybase-ct -sysvipc -tidy +tiff -tokenizer -truetype -wddx +xml2 -xmlrpc -xpm -xsl +zlib
So php gets build with mysql support, also at configure I get this:

Code: Select all

checking for MySQL support... yes
checking for specified location of the MySQL UNIX socket... /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock
checking for MySQL UNIX socket location... /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock
checking for mysql_close in -lmysqlclient... yes
I restarted all services (mysql, apache2, snort) but still the same issue.
Any help?

I'm not sure what the solution is for the ACID error you're seeing. I was able to get it installed with apache and postgresql on my system, but I've run into a slew of other errors myself.
It looks like ACID has been abandoned since about 2002-2003, so I'm not sure how happy you will be with it once it is installed successfully anyway. You might want to look into a newer replacement that is based on ACID called BASE (http://secureideas.sourceforge.net/). Unfortunately, there is no ebuild for BASE right now, but you can still install it manually.

EDIT: I've written an ebuild for BASE (http://home.comcast.net/~travis.post/base-1.1.3.ebuild). It's not an official ebuild, and has only been tested on my machine, but it seems to work well. If you'd like to test it, let me know how it works for you.
