Is it just me or is there no "clean" way of emerging mod_gzip so it works with apache2 ????

As I'm setting up a server I would like to save as much bandwith as possible on my shallow line ;-)
Best regards,

Apache 2 doesns't use mod_gzip, but mod_deflate.

And could you shed some light on this ?? I read somewhere that mod_gzip is waiting for a stable 2.x version of apache before they will develop it further - so what is the story with mod_deflate ???
