Same problem here... I added my "emerge info", maybe it helps.

Strange enough though, my notebook compiled xmms-1.2.10-r10 without any problems. The "emerge info" outputs look pretty similar. The only thing is, that I set up my Desktop PC just a few days ago (on which things DON'T work) and the Gentoo on my notebook is about 1 year old.

Fixed. 1.2.10-r12 is out :).

1.2.10-r12 works well for me. Weird. (in reply to post below this one)

I'm getting the same problem (ie., 'you should run aclocal') with 1.2.10-r12 ... so far 1.2.10-r5 seems to be working ...

That ebuild asked me for automake-1.7 (I had 1.9 and 1.5...).

I don't know if this helps, but if u did some "manual update" to automake
(or manual linking) I think u should just rollback and then do :

Code: Select all

emerge --oneshot automake-wrapper
if it asks for aclocal.

emerge --oneshot =automake-1.7*
if u don't have /usr/bin/automake-1.7.xxx
u can do this for all automake, just check to not do for 1.8.5-r1 but
for 1.8.5-r2 instead.
Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.
If you're born distro, no matter what, start to run.

Take a look at this thread. I'm emerging right now the ~x86 version of gettexet.

/EDIT After compiling the latest gettext it worked. :D

Hm, the warning stays but xmms compiles. Now it is gecko-sdk that gives errors.

Merging the unstable gettext and xmms-1.2.10-r12 worked for me.

I had r9 before, but it disappeared for the portage tree. :(

Otherwise, I never would have tried upgrading to r10.

I did NOT want to go back to r5 because of a bug there.
