Genkernel, Module Compile Failure

  • Quote

Post by linchat » Sun Jan 30, 2005 7:21 pm

Hello all,

I am installing Gentoo fresh on a Compaq Presario laptop with an AMD 64. I do NOT want the 64 bit system and have opted for 32 bit due to wireless drivers. Anyways, I installed with athlox-xp settings.

Problem is, I have 90% of the system installed and opted for a generic kernel installation (no manula settings). The kernel/bzimage makes it through but the modules are failing to compile.

I did a search for this and came up empty handed. Does anyone know why the generic kernel would fail? Seems like this is supposed to work fine, right?

Thanks.

Possible Problem

I did not follow your link that you supplied, but I did find some information regarding my issue. I needed to go in and add a line to one of the module helper files (I think that is what is was)

After adding the inclusion of a file in that, the compile went fine.
