some more icons

Post by SkiingYAC » Wed Jan 29, 2003 3:40 am

Some icons I made using the gimp template, with around 65% opacity as suggested, although some are lower/higher:

first, thanks for the work, these icons are great.

I would like to substitute my KMenu button with the penguin one from you. Can you give me a hint how to change this button??

Thanks
I wasn't real sure, so I just started copying files :)

I think the one you need to change is ~/.kde/share/icons/<size>/kmenu.png

If you use an icon theme, you'll need to throw the proper directory in there after icons...

Awesome icons, cheers to port001 and all other contributors.

One request though, how about an emacs icon?

Thanks.

The icon you want to overwrite is go.png for kmenu.

Is there a way we can get all of these together in one place, in a browseable gallery, say, on a web site? I have web space, if anyone's into that. It'd just be a better way to organize things since people are churning these out in pretty large numbers.

Well I couldn't figure out how to send an image to the forum so I modified my picture.

It's not an icon for any particular file, just my opinon of certain US copyright laws. :)

For quag7, for the moment the only solution is the thread of port001 where you can see the icons (after updates). But it's a good idea !
For ballardb, I have made new icons with one for blender, maybe you can use it if you like it.

I have made this icon after request from friends.
Always made with the master of L-Chamber and gimp ;)
If you want some icons, there is some contributors so I think that you can ask for particular icons !

Post by ZennouRyuu » Mon Feb 03, 2003 1:58 am

Ok I want to say how impessed I am with how this icon set is maturing. And I was wondering if anyone is willing to form them into a kde icon theme?

i have some icons based on the beos style all on svg files, maybe they would look fine inside the marble you guys are doing, unfortunately i have no place to put them on the net. if anybody is interested i can send them by email or something.
There has been an alarming increase in the number of things you know nothing about.

Great Ikons!
I'm stunned...

I'm having trouble seing what programs thet some of the ikons are for. No biggie really, but I would apreciate greatly to see a progname together with the ikon (not ON the ikon though, naturally)

Again, very nice!

What about an ebuild for all these nice icons? /usr/share/... seems a nice place? The ebuild could be called gentoo-icons or l33t-icons.

Any volunteer for creating such an ebuild? I'd like to do it myself, but I won't see my Gentoo machine for the next 2 weeks. (Feb. 14)

Oh wait... that's just a samba icon ;)

Great work people. Has there been any final decisions on having someone collect all of them into one place? (that is not in the middle of a forum and has a stadardized naming scheme ;))

I'm using Idesk with fluxbox. So you can use this icon with idesk but also with kde, gnome...
