Ok, so I was following the Tutorial ... and I had some problems, this ended up working just fine.

Code: Select all

#ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 present
But, on this

Code: Select all

#modprobe ndiswrapper
I get the message
ndiswrapper doesn't exist

You might want to check wether your /usr/src/linux link points to the kernel you are currently using. If this isn't the case the ndiswrapper module might have been compiled for the wrong kernel.

I know this a totally n00b question but how do I make sure it points to my 2.6 kernel?

cd /usr/src/
ls -l linux

over to the right, it will list what it's linked to.

Ideally, it should be for the kernel sources you're currently running with, or, if compiling under a different kernel, the kernel that you want ndiswrapper to work with.

Are there any build errors when using ndiswrapper? What kernel are you using? Give me the output of ls -l in the /usr/src directory.

Also, try emerging an earlier version of ndiswrapper, preferably 0.6.
