hello, I'm a little french linux user

for now i use Mandrake 9 but i want to use gentoo and i wonder if this modem is supported by gentoo. i know that sagem developped the driver for mandrake because this is the most used distribution in france.

so:

is the sagem fast 800 usb adsl modem is supported by gentoo

and if not, would you like to have the mandrake driver to port it

this is tricky but apparently some guyz achieved to install it.

Go to the french gentoo forum and look for the nice post from The Sleeper.

I still wait for an ebuild cause as you'll see, installation on gentoo is not that straight forward.

It is very well documented for Debian though and easy on Red hat/Mandrake (available rpms).
