Howto contibute ebuilds

How can I contribute ebuilds?

I've read this http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ebuild-submit.xml
but I haven't found any ebuild making documentation.

How can I apply a patch to a source?
Is there an ebuild manual?

I Hope we can work together to really increase the gentoo-ppc avaibility...

So I'd want to make my contribution first, and ask to you to do the same.

If you read the link bmichaelsen supplied, you should allready be a long way.
