I had this error once.. I thin kit was due to the baselayout I was using or something. what have you installed with ~x86?

also, are you using portage 2.51x and 2004.3 profile? if not, give that a try, and re-sync ur portage tree

The ebuilds seem to be offline at the moment -- does anyone have a copy they could send/link me to?

Thanks

Will I be able to use this on AMD64 in a pure 64-bit?

I only see ~x86 and I figure the ebuilds are similar, i.e only take into account ~x86 and not ~amd64.

I use it on my amd64 machine just fine.

Just modify the keywords under package.list to reflect ~amd64.

All the ebuilds are already ~amd64 enabled.

dunno.. haven't tried them.

most of these patches are NOT included in kde yet, so I doubt they are in 3.3.2 yet.

there will prob be a new set and when they are released I will make a new set of ebuilds.

Use Plastik for the window decorations, but use Lipstik for the other option. Lipstik is a plastik clone with loads of new and enhaced options. The buttons are much butter with it and all. I am thinking of not using Plastik anymore anyways.

Cheers.

I just finished compiling KDE 3.3.2 with the patches. :D They work great, and I must say that this new version is great.

@Taskara: I compressed the modified ebuilds, and you can DL then here. Well, anybody can DL them from there. I hope I encluded everything.

Oh, as an added bonus, I modified my khtml anchor fix patch (see the main kde 3.3.2 thread for more info) to patch against all the patches. So you get the perrty candy, plus an actual fix. :D

As soon as Taskara DLs and checks out the patches and places them on his site, I will take down the DL on SF.net, unless you all want that there.

Happy compiling. :D

Oh, did I mention that the new 3.3.2 version is fast. I mean blazing fast complied with gcc 3.4.3.

what about this
Is a valid suggestion?

That is still experimental. If that was included in the perrty ebuilds, then it would need to be controled by a use flag. I really see no point to having the whole window transparent. What I would like is the text part of konsole to have true transparency.
ooks good, thanks Stiff.
You're welcome! :D

Anyways, is it my imagination or does KDE 3.3.2 seem an faster. I swear my system is faster. Everything just loads quicker. I can't wait for KDE 3.4 now to see if things have been made even quicker.
EDIT: I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I used the QT-3.3.3-r1 ebuild which allows more compile flags than the previous ebuild, so QT got optimized a little more. *shrug* Oh well, I'm happy with it. :D

we have discussed to translucency patches a few times in this thread, and my view was if people wanted it I could make a seperate ebuild, although I like Stiffler's idea of a use flag.

Not that I have ANY time over the next month, but if I do I'll check this out.
