I've got two rather irritating quirks in mplayer, they are:
1. When playing something in fullscreen in gmplayer with xv as video-driver, the screen goes black when switching from one file to another. If i simply click anywhere in the window, the image is there and things go on normaly until the file ends and another begins.
When running with the xv driver in a normal window, it sometimes goes black when switching files and sometimes not. xv in itself is fine, since vlc has no problems like this.
This is never a problem when running mplayer from a terminal. Audio is always fine when using xv.
2.) When using the gl2-driver to compensate for the above mentioned bug, I have another problem. When system load is high, image and audio lags a lot, making it completely unusable. Something such as browsing an image-packed website, or emerging something in the background is completely out of the question when using gl2.
I'm using the nvidia propriertary drivers with xorg 6.8.0, mplayer 1.0-pre5.
Has anyone got a fix for this, or at least the same problem(s)?
