I need to learn how to get and save an txt/html file from a web page (URL) in my c++ program

If you want to do it "by hand" :
-connect a socket
-send http request
-receive the data
-write to file

Easy.

Perhaps there are libs to do it for you, i don't know.

naaaa not for tomorrow it's a part of my "final year" project

and I know how to do it manual. i'm going to do that but with libs it will be better for me.

I found libcurl. but I think I will make my own lib

Nice, platform dependant way No.2 ) incorperate the wget code into your prog.

To be evil to the person marking it (not a good idea if you want good grades) go for 2) and *don't* put the wget code in a gheader or anything, just include it in the middle of your code.

Make sure to have a copy of the GPL in the source tree too.
