Migrating to Apache2 ... suexec? [Resolved]

I migrated my server to Gentoo with Apache 1.3 and found this great suexec thing was enabled, allowing me to run my CGI scripts as the proper user. Well, I like it, and can't move away from it now.

I need some things which require Apache2 now, so am trying to migrate over, but it appears suexec doesn't allow me to set user and group directives for a virtual host any more? Or is the default configuration for Apache2 different?

I really am not that great with apache... its configuration seems overly complicated to me andjust not intuitive... are there any Apache gurus out there who might know where I need to look?

I searched through the Apache documentation explaining suexec and found the use of User and Group inside a virtual host was no longer the way to do it... SuexecUserGroup is the way to handle things in Apache2.

I also needed to manually add the module to my config file... otherwise, it seems to be working properly now. Yay. :-)

Can you show me this line and tell me which config file?

Thanks,
Skywacker

[EDIT] N/m, i figured it out. I added this to apache2.conf

###Modules I've added
LoadModule suexec_module modules/mod_suexec.so
