there you are http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1762440

there (are/is one) ongoing branch(es) for 64bit porting. won't be fun for you.

the new way of packaging is shit hehe dunno atm how it should work... but i have no time to dig into it. first the new kernel has to play well with nvidia somehow.

Anyone please stops the kernel developers to play god, please?

Kept trying but it always pauses at the same spot :(
your ccache may be screwed, so you have two options
1)re-cache the compile

Code: Select all

CCACHE_RECACHE="1" emerge openoffice-ximian
2) clear your ccache and try again

Code: Select all

ccache -Cz
emerge openoffice-ximian
some parts of the compile may appear to have stalled, just leave it,
and eventually it will go to the next step.
while i have not watched OOo compile fully, i recall watching parts
where it appears to have deadlocked or something, but enventually it
will recover. not sure what it's doing, but it must must be doing something
which takes a hell of a long time.
Thanks, I'll try that. I just figured it stalled because I left it running and came back about 4 hours later, noticed what it was at. Left for another 5 hours, and it was still there. I think 9 hours is a bit much of OOo especially on a 1.7Ghz Pentium M. 8O

EDIT: Forgot I don't use ccache
That rank under my username doesn't mean I know everything, it just means I ask a lot of questions.
