eMule with wine crashes after some hours

After searching through the net I found a way to run eMule with wine:

1. I configured Wine for my system.
2. I copied ole32.dll, oleaut32.dll and shlwapi.dll from my WinXP System32 directory into the eMule directory.
3. I start eMule using:
wine --dll ole32,oleaut32,shlwapi=n 'd:\eMule\emule.exe'

where 'd:\eMule\emule.exe' points to the emule executable of course.

At first glance, everything runs fine and downloading speed id super-fast but after some hours eMule crashes.
Everytime eMule starts a new connection to another client, wine says:

fixme:winsock:WS_bind Setting WS_SO_REUSEADDR on socket before we binding it

This doesn't seem to hurt, at least not immediately.
But suddenly, after about 3 to 5 hours there's another output mixed with the other:

fixme:winsock:NtStatusToWSAError Status code c000011f converted to DOS error code 4

Within some minutes after its first occurence, this message increases in count until there comes:

wine client error:8077cf0: no fd received for handle 316
0x809a5c8:1: Event manual=1 signaled=1 name=""

The last line repeats several times and finally wine crashes.

I searched the net but I didn't find any useful information.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem might be?

I tried several cvs builds of Wine since mid of December and eMule versions 0.24b and 0.25

hmmm ...why don't you use edonkey for linux?!? ...AFAIK emule and edonkey share the same servers

Firstly, eMule is superiour to eDonkey because it uses an enhanced protocol and client. For example, with eMule you don't have to redownload a chunk if its download gets interrupted. Also, it features a points system which benefits people who allow a high upload bandwith. The average speed increase is enormous, at least for my 512/128 Cable connection.

Secondly, the latest version of eDonkey for linux is v59. Many servers don't accept versions that low and refuse connections. Additionally, most of the eDonkey clients today are actually eMule clients and they prefer other eMule clients.

There are several projects to create a linux eMule client but, AFAIK none of them has released any clients yet.

Emule under windows seems to crash a lot as well.
Try a different version of Emule.

Well if you want a stable actually working linux client you should look at mldonkey
http://www.nongnu.org/mldonkey/
mldonkey received a bit of bad press but most of it is not true anymore, just check it out and see for yourself.
