Cobalt RaQ 4i - unable to compile

  • Quote

Post by imbezol » Mon Mar 01, 2004 5:41 pm

I've run into a problem where I'm unable to compile anything. When I first installed the system it was working ok, but something I've updated in emerge -u system has broke it.

I started with the stage 3 1.4 release tarball for x86.

Here is the attempt to do an emerge -u gcc which first tries to update gawk. I get similar errors trying to update almost everything.

http://imbezol.criticaldamage.com/misc/ ... te_gcc.txt

I have flashed the rom in the system to allow running a 2.4 kernel and I'm running the precompiled kernel from ftp://ftp-eng.cobalt.com/pub/users/thockin/2.4/gen_III/

This kernel does not have devfs support although I'm not sure if that is a problem or not. I may try compiling it with support for that if I don't come up with any other ideas.

Maybe you forgot to etc-update it? I'm not sure, but sometimes the -u thing has screwed my system up before.

Just a suggestion.
