  • Quote

Post by bdonlan » Sun Oct 10, 2004 7:44 pm

I've been trying to burn a DVD+R with dvdrtools-0.1.6, but it fails with:

Code: Select all

dvdrecord -fs=10m speed=16 dev=0,0,0 -vvvv -dao ^M -dummy driveropts=burnfree -data image.iso
dvdrtools v0.1.6

I'm using Memorex 4x DVD+Rs, and kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r3 with ide-scsi. How can I get it to record correctly? Also, how can I get DVD burning with ATAPI to work?

I'm not at all sure what your problem is as far as the SCSI is concerned. But to get your ATAPI writer working, AFAIK, you need to config this in the kernel. You should also not use SCSI emulation. I've never been able to get an ATAPI DVD writer to work with SCSI emulation. I'd say ATAPI is you best shot.

If you have no SCSI devices, you can completly turn of SCSI support. I think USB devices and the like will still show up as SCSI devices fine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

dvdrtools does not support ATAPI burning.

I'm pretty sure K3b uses cdrecord. Though I could be wrong. Well, to be fair, my K3b uses it.

not to be silly but I guess that cdrecord is a symlink to dvdrecord... so we're starting over agian: Though it has been stated that it doesnt work with ATAPI, I succeded at it.
